The US has announced a significant $20 billion aid package to Ukraine,
financed by seized Russian assets, aiming to hold Russia accountable
for its ongoing military aggression. This funding comes as both
Russian and Ukrainian forces adapt their tactics against the rising
threat of small drones in combat. With advancements in drone
technology, soldiers are modifying their rifles to improve
effectiveness against these threats, which have been responsible for
numerous battlefield casualties. Experts indicate that while attempts
to down drones with small arms are being made, the success rate
remains low due to various operational challenges and the nature of
drone construction. Recent reports show that both sides are
experimenting with different ammunition types, including creating
makeshift anti-drone rounds to enhance their chances of successfully
intercepting these aerial threats. As the conflict continues, the
urgency for effective drone countermeasures is clear, leading to
innovative responses from military personnel on both sides.
